Film Techniques
Where do I even begin...Film is the most frustrating and most rewarding form of art. In order for me to best explain how I run these lessons I will first list all of the components of film...script writing, storyboarding, safety, lighting, audio, cinematography, editing, eating popcorn and watching it on TV...see what I mean..its frustrating how much work it takes to get to the popcorn part..but trust me it is worth it. With my film techniques lessons I will teach you all of the skills listed above! Starting with script writing, how to write a script and revise it until you have created a short film. Then learning the safety that takes place when setting up various things for a scene (such as lighting, camera movements, audio, and of course the actors). Then moving to the post production which is editing the film and seeing if anything needs to be redone and revised..and then of course you will finally get to eat popcorn and watch your film!
-Screenwriting (learning how to correctly format and write your film out...dialogue, descriptions, details...)
-Storyboard ( how to think through and detail your film out to properly be prepared for filming)
-Safety (different kinds of tools and protocols to take when setting up a scene)
-Lighting ( how to light indoor and outdoor and achieve different looks)
-Audio (how to set up your mics, whether it is clip-ons or a boom and how to achieve proper balance)
-Cinematography (the different components of a camera and what they do, how to film in different settings)
-Editing (how to transition, condense, fix audio, fix video, and mix everything in post production)

The ultimate goal will be to create your short films!!!
